Little Big Adventure – Twinsen's Quest from [2.21] and Microids is out now. It's a remake of the original classic with a graphical makeover and modernized gameplay.

Initially released in 1994 under the name Little Big Adventure, this classic action-adventure game imagined by Frédérick Raynal (Alone in the Dark) was a worldwide success. Little Big Adventure – Twinsen’s Quest features a new artistic direction, modernised gameplay and brand-new music by Philippe Vachey, the original composer.

Their press team did initially offer me pre-release access to take a look. But they didn't actually reply to my follow-up email enquiring about any Steam Deck / Linux support, so I won't be directly taking a look right now since no key was provided. I'm sure plenty of readers will still be interested to know it's out anyway, but you will need Proton to play it.

Features:

  • Discover a richly layered story filled with complex themes.
  • Navigate through Twinsun with a revamped level layout and redesigned controls.
  • Defeat foes with an enhanced Magic Ball.
  • Enjoy a unique and updated artistic vision.
  • Immerse yourself with a new soundtrack by the original composer.

I played the demo successfully on Steam deck. It even had icons for the Steam deck buttons in the hints and walk through.

I have also played the demo successfully on my desktop arch Linux machine, it did crash on startup, but switching to proton experimental fixed it.

I will definitely buy this game and my own is to enjoy our during my Christmas vacation.

Had to refund this personally. Nothing wrong with how the game runs, I just don't want to support taking a game I love so dearly and making a very arbitrary, tone shifting changes to the story. Worried for the LBA2 remake now... LBA2 being one of my favorite games of all time.

Happily the originals will live on
