Developer Naughty Dog announced that finally The Last of Us Part II Remastered will be getting a PC release! It arrives on April 3, 2025. Now this one I am seriously excited to finally play. My patience is paying off! I truly loved playing through the first game, so I'm going to be getting this for sure.
Naughty Dog are partnering up with Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy Studios for this one. Naughty Dog said it will be "newly optimized and enhanced for PC" but they're not giving details on PC-specific features yet which they will do closer to the launch date.

“We’re all thrilled to bring The Last of Us Part II to the PC audience, including all the great new features we added in the Remastered version for PS5,” The Last of Us Part II Remastered Game Director Matthew Gallant said. “We hope players enjoy the captivating story, rich combat mechanics, extensive behind-the-scenes commentary, and test their skills in the roguelike mode No Return. We’re working hard to ensure that the game feels great on this new platform, and has the high performance and robust features that PC players expect.”
Hopefully it won't have any troubles being played on Linux with Proton. The Steam Deck might be a bit dicey though, let's hope they work on some optimisations for it there too.
Since it's a Sony game it will again require you have a PlayStation Network Account.
Quoting: kellerkindtYay! But also ugh: "Requires 3rd-Party Account: PlayStation Network (Supports Linking to Steam Account)"
As the article notes, but yeah, by this point, we shouldn't be surprised. Sony have set out their stall. This will be in every game they produce from now on. They learned their lesson with HellDivers 2. They'll be up-front about the requirement on every title from here on in.
