Two bits of good news for gamers interested in picking up The Rogue Prince of Persia from developers Evil Empire and publisher Ubisoft, as they've given an update on some future plans. The game is currently rated Steam Deck Verified and Gold on ProtonDB.

In a fresh announcement on Steam posted December 19th the developer clarified that "There will in fact be no Ubisoft Connect at all for the game on Steam.". It was previously planned as an optional feature but now they're not doing it. On top of that a planned price rise for January is also off the table, but the price may still go up in future.

Back in November the developers at Evil Empire gave the game quite a big upgrade too, check out the trailer:

A roadmap for the first part of 2025 has also been put up:

The game is 25% off during the Steam Winter Sale 24. It has a Very Positive rating on Steam so clearly players have been enjoying this one from some of the team previously responsible for Dead Cells.

The Rogue Prince of Persia | Release Date: 27th May 2024

Thankfully they listen their fan base and changed that awful purple skin, now this looks interesting! I hope that they oversells the latest pop released, so who knows if Ubi learn something and stop doing bullsh*t with their IPs

@dvd
steam says that compatibility on steam deck is verified, on proton db there are info that it's playable. No native version though.
