We're likely to continue seeing more developers try mixing up classic games like Balatro did with Poker, and now we have Aotenjo: Infinite Hands aiming to do similar for Mahjong. It's already proving quite popular with a Very Positive rating on Steam.
Here the ancient Chinese game of Mahjong meets deck-building. And of course, you get to make it ridiculous with special Artifacts to change the game along with various special Tiles and Gadgets. The developer said: "Inspired by over 40 different regional Mahjong styles, Aotenjo offers a blend of familiarity and novelty. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned player of Richii, MCR, or Cantonese Mahjong, you’ll find something to enjoy. From Two-Suit Only challenges to Dora and Flower Tiles, we have it all!".

I'm loving the return of so many of these smaller games each providing some new spin on a classic.
Since not many people know how to play Mahjong, it would be a harder sale
