Giving you a chance to see how well Monster Hunter Wilds will run on your Steam Deck or Desktop Linux system, there's going to be two more open Beta tests during February.

This new Beta will keep everything from the first which includes Character Creation, Story Trial and a Doshaguma Hunt. But it will also add in hunting for a returning monster from the series Gypceros. They say other new content will be revealed later. For participating you'll be gifted an "Open Beta Test Bonus Pendant" and a "OBT 2 Bonus Item Pack". You can even use save data from the first open Beta. Don't expect progress to carry over to the full game though.

Announced today the dates are (times are approximate and may change):

  • February 6th 2025 7:00pm - February 9th, 2025 6:59 pm (Pacific Time)
  • February 13th, 2025 7:00 pm - February 16th, 2025 6:59 pm (Pacific Time)

In UTC time they start 3am the following day (Feb 7th, Feb 14th).

Y'know, I kinda like Capcom (as much as I can like a AAA dev/publisher). They are far from perfect, but this kinda thing is nice to see.
