A few years in Early Access and it's now complete. Luden.io have released the 1.0 update for Learning Factory, a chilled factory building automation sim about supplying cats on Mars with everything they need. It has Native Linux support and is Steam Deck Verified.

More about it: "Learning Factory is a relaxing automation game, which lets you concentrate on the most important task in the Universe: making cats happy again. You're a humble genius scientist who gets invited to become the chief engineer at an abandoned Factory on Mars, designed to produce and sell exquisite goods for cats. It was conceived to learn everything about cats and make them happy, but it is desolated now, and cats are leaving Factory Stores unhappy and empty-pawed."

Highlights:

  • Renovate an abandoned factory on Mars.
  • Design and automate production chains.
  • Produce and sell exquisite goods to cats.
  • Collect and analyze data with Machine Learning.
  • Scale and make the factory more efficient.
  • Make cats happy!
  • Rebuild the ancient Monument.
  • Establish Catopia in the feline society!

Much like their previous game, the acclaimed puzzle game about machine learning while True: learn(), Learning Factory is backed by specialists in the subject, and implements real-world machine learning models.

I checked it out years ago and was quite impressed with it and since it has expanded massively. The game now has a Very Positive rating on Steam too.

Learning Factory | Release Date: 27th January 2025
