Valve updated the Steam Client for Desktop and Steam Deck with a new Beta release, so here's what you need to know. It's basically the same across both system types, since it's a Steam Client update.
Here's all that's changed:
General
Big Picture
- Fixed empty tooltips sometimes showing up as little boxes.
Linux
- Improved the display of the startup animations on 16:9 and ultra-wide monitor resolutions.
- Fixed the display of the Triangle/Cross glyphs for the PlayStation DualShock controller on some Virtual Keyboard skins where they didn't display.
Steam Input
- Fixed turning off external gamepads connected via BT via the controller chord and after the inactivity timeout.
- Fixed an issue where the Wireless HORIPAD for Steam could wake up OLED Steam Decks when they suspend while the device is connected via BT.
- Fixed an issue where hitting down in the Keyboard section of the Choose Binding screen could switch to the gamepad tab.
- Fixed some cases where bindings were removed for grip or share buttons on devices.

It's interesting to see the startup animation improvements, likely another step towards better support of running Steam / SteamOS on more handheld devices that we expect to see launching with or updating with support for SteamOS this year.
Also nice to see Valve fix the Wireless HORIPAD for Steam problem, so you shouldn't need to do the firmware update I reported on now if Valve fixed it directly.

And TVs, since they're going to be 16:9 rather than 16:10.

And TVs, since they're going to be 16:9 rather than 16:10.Just installed SteamOS on my sofa PC last weekend via Steam Deck recovery image. It actually works pretty great -- the TV is detected correctly and UI scaling works properly. I did notice the wrong aspect ratio on the startup animation, so this is actually great news.

Just installed SteamOS on my sofa PC last weekend via Steam Deck recovery image. You mean Steam Deck Recovery Image can be used to install vanilla SteamOS on a regular PC? I think I tried that once, and it didn't boot, so I just assumed that the system is heavily tailored for the Deck's hardware.

Claude. But you have to remember to have AMD config. The more similiar to Steam Deck the better.

As long as you're using AMD hardware it should be fine.
LTT did that a few days ago.
