BitGlint Games have released a demo for Blackford PI, a retro styled isometric detective adventure that looks really charming. Announced by the developer on Bluesky, the demo has a Linux version.

According to the developer they were inspired by retro classic 8-bit games like MOVIE, Contact Sam Cruise & the Magic Knight series. They said the puzzles you'll find are built on a traditional verb/noun structure but implemented via a menu system.

More: "Set in 1940s New York in the offices of a secretive engineering & design company, You play Clarence Blackford, a man tasked with unravelling the mysterious goings on at Midtown Design Bureau".

You can check out the demo on itch.io.

The developer also previously released Melkhior's Mansion, a colourful retro throwback to classic games from the 80s with a ZX Spectrum inspired colour palette. I'm sure a few older readers will love that one. That also has a Linux version available.
