Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition from Beamdog just got a brand new sequel story DLC, and it also seems we're getting Neverwinter Nights 2 Enhanced Edition from Aspyr Media.

Neverwinter Nights 2 Enhanced Edition got listed on SteamDB recently, and while it hasn't yet seen an announcement, the EULA as shown on SteamDB mentions Aspyr Media. So we'll have to keep our eyes peeled for an announcement on that one.

Back to the original Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition from Beamdog, they teamed up with developer Luke Scull (author and lead designer of Tyrants of the Moonsea) to create Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition Doom of Icewind Dale, a full official continuation of the classic.

Features:

  • An expansive DLC with 10-15+ hours of gameplay
  • Navigate the world map to explore 14 areas in Icewind Dale including Icewind Pass, the Dwarven Valley, and the Reghed Glacier. Visit several of the famed Ten Towns!
  • Recruit from 5 different companions for your party, including returning characters from the original Wailing Death campaign as well as Tyrants of the Moonsea
  • 14 new monsters to face off against, including new creature portraits
  • 16 new music tracks and 24 new ambient area tracks bring Icewind Dale to life in all its majestic beauty
  • An official sequel to the Original Campaign that also ties in with the Shadows of Undrentide, Hordes of the Underdark, and Ossian Studios’ campaigns

Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition | Release Date: 27th March 2018

I really wish Beamdog were in charge of 2 as well, but as long as we're getting it back in some form. For single player, I will die on the hill that 2 is actually so much better than 1 in every way, even the mediocre original campaign. Mask of the Betrayer is one of the absolute best experiences and worth it for playing through that alone. It's a shame the custom campaigns didn't take off as well as they did with the original toolset.
