Another big update has been released for RPCN, the open source online matchmaking server for PlayStation 3 emulator RPCS3. This brings new features and more compatible games for Netplay.

RPCN v1.4.0 / 1.4.1 actually released last week, with the RPCS3 team announcing it yesterday as they've hooked up various bits it needed in RPCS3 directly now too. From the official RPCS3 Discord they listed these games that now work online:

  • Arcana Heart 3 LOVE MAX!!!!!
  • BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger
  • BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
  • BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma
  • BlazBlue: Central Fiction
  • Persona 4 Arena
  • Persona 4 Arena Ultimax
  • Super Hang-On
  • TMNT Turtles in Time Re-Shelled
  • Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late
  • Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st]
  • + more

As for RPCN itself version 1.4.0 added all this:

Added

  • Implemented support for private slots and room passwords
  • Added hint for game name in game tracker
  • Added a cache to game tracker
  • Added support for IPv6 for signaling
  • Added support for groups
  • Added a command to reset client's state without disconnecting

Changed

  • Removed target from logging
  • Stopped printing error if connection stops because of TCP connection termination
  • Got rid of unnecessary Arcs around atomics in game tracker
  • Cleaned up logging

Fixed

  • Signaling information is now given out to the person joining a room in the room response and in the notification that a user has joined instead of separately
  • Fixed Presence not being announced to friends when first set

Misc

  • Updated dependencies to all latest major versions
