Out now and exclusive to the GOG store, Croc Legend of the Gobbos returns with a Remaster from Argonaut Games, bringing the classic back with many modern enhancements. One I missed from last week, you'll need Wine / Proton to run it on Linux so to make it easier you can use the likes of Heroic Games or Lutris.

Jez San OBE, who originally founded Argonaut in 1982, expressed his enthusiasm about the revival: "Bringing the Argonaut name back after twenty years away has been an amazing experience. Argonaut was always about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in gaming. I’m excited to see how the relaunched Argonaut Games builds on that legacy, starting with the Croc Legend of the Gobbos remaster."

More about it:

A Classic Returns

Originally released in 1997 for the original Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and PCs, Croc Legend of the Gobbos captured the hearts of players worldwide with its charming protagonist and imaginative worlds. Now, nearly three decades later, this beloved title from Argonaut Games is making a triumphant return with stunning new visuals, updated quality-of-life features, and an array of exciting additions that are sure to delight both longtime fans and new players alike.

Enhanced for Modern Platforms

The remastered Croc Legend of the Gobbos brings the heartwarming journey of Croc, the humble and courageous little crocodile, back to life with vibrant, high-definition graphics, a modern controls and camera system, and refined gameplay mechanics. Players will once again embark on a delightful quest across a series of imaginative worlds, running, jumping, climbing, swimming, and tail-spinning to rescue the adorable Gobbos from the nefarious Baron Dante’s grasp. Navigate Croc through beautifully recrafted levels brimming with quirky enemies, puzzles, and hidden secrets to save his adoptive Gobbo family from captivity.

The exclusive GOG release on PC comes with the original version too. It's not been made clear why it's exclusive to GOG.

I love this game and would like to support it to maybe they release Croc 2, but it's currently a bit expensive. 15x the price that I paid for Croc 2, 20 years ago.

It's not been made clear why it's exclusive to GOG.

Because it's a good old game ... ?

I'll stick with the Sega Saturn version, but it's good to see it being re-released. 🐊

That's a pretty hefty price, even when waiting for a sale.

This would have flown into my GOG library even at $30 but I hear it's missing some music.

At this price, I'll wait until they add Linux support or there's a generous sale on... Granted, it's not ultra-expensive; but it's more than I'd like to pay for a Windows-only game.

Still have this on my PS1, original CD. Love it, charming little game, that has great music too. Just bought it on GOG, going to install it tomorrow using Heroic Launcher.

Still have my original disc, wanted to pick this up but at its current price I'll wait for a sale myself

I was expecting it to be around the £15 mark which I probably would of picked up

None the less, people seem happy with the quality of this remaster, I felt disappointed by the recent tomb raider remasters but this at least seems to have alot of effort and love put into it
