This is not a drill. Hollow Knight: Silksong is alive, thankfully, and it's even going to be releasing this year. On Nintendo Switch 2 that is at least.
Don't go expecting some big reveal here though, because this isn't it. During the Nintendo Switch 2 event today we were graced with just a few seconds of footage, which also clearly showed a 2025 release date. We're still waiting to see about an official announcement from Team Cherry directly on a release date for any other platform. At least for Hollow Knight fans though, the wait will soon be over in some form.

I'll be keeping a close eye out for any more news on it. Given the tiny slice we saw today though, it's likely Team Cherry aren't yet ready to divulge any more.
also, heavily skeptical of anything team cherry says. what's the vegas odds on a delay to 2026 then 2027?
Team Cherry says they don't believe in saying much about the game/doing promo (other than a full-length trailer right when they started dev). Expect the next news to be a stealth drop.
Love to see the memes have carried over to the Linux community.

So will this be a timed exclusive switch2 game? 2025 date is confusing because steam still has no date at all and just says "Planned Release Date: To be announced"@R Daneel Olivaw
I hope not because with the way Nintendo has been pricing their games for Switch 2, it'd be terrible to have it stuck on a $449 system when it should be available on as many platforms as possible.
