Mesa 25.0.4 bug-fix release out, plus the Mesa 25.1 feature update has a first release candidate

Developer Eric Engestrom announced the release of the latest Mesa 25.0.4 stable bug-fix release, and we're also closing in on the next feature release with Mesa 25.1 seeing a first release candidate for testing.

For Mesa 25.0.4 there's bug fixes for Elden Ring, The Last of Us Part 1, The Last of Us Part 2, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, NINJA GAIDEN 2 Black, The Headliners and other games across different drivers. The full changes are listed below:

  • [ANV][LNL] - NINJA GAIDEN 2 Black (3287520) - Environment assets are incorrectly rendered or missing.
  • [ANV][LNL] - The Headliners (3059070) - Title hangs a few minutes after launch.
  • anv, regression: Invisibly blinking cliffs & rocks in Satisfactory DX12 on BMG
  • vk/overlay: output_file option failing
  • [bisected, LNL] brw: 341e5117ecbc (“brw/nir: Treat load_const as convergent”) regresses arb_gpu_shader5-interpolateAtOffset on LNL
  • vulkan regression mesa 24.3.4 to 25.0.0.rc3 with broadcom
  • radv: nir_opt_varyings.c:2766: deduplicate_outputs: Assertion `list_index == 0’ failed.
  • vulkan/wsi: memory leak from wsi_CreateSwapchainKHR

With the first Mesa 25.1 release candidate, there's of course a whole lot more that's new. This includes work towards new and upcoming GPUs along with various newly supported features like the Intel Vulkan driver being less restrictive for RAM use. You can see all the changes for Mesa 25.1 on the GitLab but a proper changelog will be up with the final release.
