Kerbal Space Program has been updated again with a huge update, and brings it into the "beta" phase of development. They will now start to implement the final major components to career mode.
The full game will be available as an offline DRM free version next summer, but the developer, Maschinen-Mensch, has released an alpha to gather player feedback to help balance procedural aspects of the game.
Looking through Steam’s holiday auction today, I noticed something which excited me and perplexed me at the same time: Airline Tycoon has been ported to Linux and somehow I didn’t notice that one of my favourite business sims of all time had been released now for over a week.
If you are one of those people who don't mind spending some money on silly but fun games; you can't miss "I am Bread", the #1 software on bread simulation!
Maia is a space colony sim with some lovely graphics, but lacking a little in content. Thankfully development is healthy, and a new version has been pushed out with tons of changes!
The city builder Stonehearth which reached their Linux stretch goal back in the Kickstarter campaign is closing in on the ports both to Mac and Linux, which will evidently happen at the same time.
Ensign-1 was a promising looking space shooting sim from Only Human Studios which we covered a lot "back in the day", but the developer seemingly gave up on it. That doesn't seem to be the case now, and I can't wait to see what happens.
Kerbal Space Program has always been about building things. It has always been about those things exploding. Now - as part of the 0.25 update - it's about buildings exploding. (And plenty more besides.)

Banished is a city-builder from Shining Rock Software LLC that was praised rather a lot when it came out, and the developer noted they planned a Linux version. We caught up with the developer to see when.
We only introduced you to Hearthlands a few days ago, but it already has a whopper of an update release to make it even more interesting. Hearthlands is a game much like Settlers, Majesty and Pharaoh.
Prison Architect is probably one of the best indie games around for strategy/sim fans. This new update introduces prisoner reputation, protective custody and much more.
Hearthlands is my latest little discovery and even though it's in the early stages it looks really promising. Hearthlands plays out much like the Majesty & Settlers strategy games that puts the focus on buildings, resources, heroes and other things a King needs to watch over, so you don't control your units directly.
On the official Tropico Facebook page the developers sent word out that the Linux (and Mac) versions are still on time for release on Friday 19th September!
Universe Sandbox 2 is a physics based space simulator. We never got the original on Linux, but as teased the developers are delivering with Universe Sandbox 2.
In Mini Metro you are tasked with designing your own subway system for a growing city. It looks simple, but once you get into it not only is it addictive, but it's generally awesome too.
