You've probably seen a bunch of articles related to this tactical FPS/RTS game running on the Source engine. Before buying it I had compared the screenshots and gameplay ideas to Natural Selection 2 and thought about skipping it. But thanks to Steam's Autumn Sale I decided to pick it up anyways, which turned out to be a good decision after all.

So it looks like XCOM: Enemy Unknown is nearing beta status with a new entry on the SteamDB, not 100% confirmation of course but it looks quite convincing.

After one year of working the OpenSource game MegaGlest has released a new version. There are nice new terrains with animated trees and many new maps. Cross platform multiplayer compatibility was vastly improved and many other details make it more fun than ever to play this game.

The developers confirmed to me via twitter they are in fact planning to bring Solar Flux to Linux! This interesting strategy game looks like it will have a lot of fans for good visuals and engaging game-play. Ride those solar flares baby!

OpenRA is the open source engine for playing with old westwood/ea RTS game units like Command & Conquer and Red Alert. So glad these guys are keeping them alive, it is a pitty they can't support the original campaigns though.
