I haven't actually switched to Linux gaming yet. I'm still using Windows for gaming at the moment. I've joined here because I'm considering it and am looking for more information about it. I am using Arch Linux with MATE on my laptop though. And I've been using Linux, primarily Ubuntu, Debian, and Arch, for a little over 15 years.

Was at first only following GOL, because of the interesting tech, but got inspired to play Unvanquished and now I sometimes play a round or 2 there.

i'm a french guy and quite bad in english (merci deepl, il y a d'autres francophones ici ?)
i've been reading the website for a long time but I'd never created an account, and here it is
i've been using linux for about 25 years, a lot of that time on debian and since i've got a good computer for gaming, i've switched to manjaro (especially for the more recent nvidia drivers), i'm very happy with it.
apart from that, i'm interested in electronic music and my crazy cat (and weed, a lot ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯ )
that's all for my presentation today, kisses
As you can see, my username is ShuShay, but you can call me Shu for short if you'd like. I live on the US west coast.
I started using (GNU/)Linux about 10 years ago, when I dual-booted Mint with Windows. Over time, I tried out a few different distros, like OpenSUSE, Ubuntu, and a few of their derivatives. It was part of my journey in figuring out what I wanted to get out both the Linux desktop and PC gaming. One thing led to another, and I'm now a satisfied user of Fedora's KDE Plasma version. Haven't really needed to use Windows in years.
I don't have a very powerful computer at the moment, but I haven't let that stop me from gaming on my own terms.
Honestly, I'm just grateful that this site exists.
My name is Glen. I have been using Linux Since Ubuntu 8.04 (ish) . I started playing games in the 1980's loading up cassettes for the Spectrum 128k , or typing in page after page of code I didn't understand at that age just in the hope it actually played ( rarely did)
I bought a SteamDeck last year and have never been so pleased with hardware.
As I suffer from CPTSD I don't have much of a social life or work life. Games keep me balanced. :-)
I'm currently coming to the end of being obsessed with Fallout 4. Tried Fallout 76 and saw the monetisation , immediately uninstalled the demo. (Felt like someone making a subpar version of fallout series)
What else? Um...I'm a musician , love something from every genre of music.

This also explains who that friends request was.
(I saw the GOL group so accepted it, but wasn't sure who it was beyond that. )
Oh, and welcome to everyone else too, of course!
