Dug into my library for old games that I bought but never played, forgot I had this gem.

Gurumin - A Monstrous Adventure

Free_gamer Jun 20, 2022
It has been quite fun so far, though it's very different to the original game. Performance wise it's quite good on my machine, but I have to launch it using DX11 or else it did hang on the first flash-back.

Been meaning to start this game for ages, I feel the gameplay and graphics held up well after almost 13 years.

Game name - Singularity

Singularity is a hidden gem. Some years ago, a friend gave it to us because he didn't like it (Xbox 360) and we played the Hell out of it that night. I went home and bought it on Steam that night.

Yes, it works great on Linux (well, last time I played it). It's been a few years now, I think I'd enjoy another play through of that again now.

Just making sure the classics still work...

To get the game working on modern Windows (including Wine/Proton) South Park PC Improved! with nglide is needed.

To actually have any fun playing the game drugs and/or alcohol is needed.

Thats a nice window theme, what is it pls?
Sliver-X Sep 21
It's a recreation of the Windows XP Zune theme for Xf4wm:

I made the panel background myself from the window border decorations.

In Sound Mind - Saw this game on sale several times. I'm yet to understand the story, but seems interesting.

Tech note: Upon launching the game, Mouse and Keyboard didn't work for me (Wine Staging 9.21). Worked around it by pressing Alt+Enter to enter Window mode then I move the window around and right click on the Window border. Wine is in virtual desktop.

A lot of input issues are better in the Wayland driver.

Yeah this is neccesary in many unity games (most notorious in lastest example CarX Street) in my case (virtual desktop), use alt+enter for put in windowed, after this minimize this window and after this use alt+tab to exit virtual desktop

after this back to virtual desktop again and you have keyboard input correctly (also after this can use alt+enter for back to fullscreen but this time with input)

Sadly input in wine also have issues (x11) in various games and wayland add other input issues

wine input need more work on both x11 and wayland

Some, but it helped with a bunch of focus problems I had, including in Unity games.
Playing the recently released Legacy of Kain - Soul Reaver 1 and 2 games. They work well in Wine.

Make sure to limit the FPS, the main menu can't be navigated well as it's too fast (game issue not Wine/Linux related).
Also the game is using OpenGL, so running it with Zink+VkBasalt is a nice combo for easy anti aliasing and switching it to Vulkan (personal preference).
