It's a shame I can't really get my hands on Roccat gear here locally. The only Roccat gear I got my hands on when I discovered Roccat was ok with Linux, was the Roccat Kave. Best sounding gaming headphones out of all the ones I've tried (Razer, SteelSeries,SonicGear,TurtleBeach).

The Kave has worked in all my Ubuntu installations to date. Never an issue with sound quality (plus the Linux drivers seem to give me heavier bass compared to the Windows ones, I don't know why). Only one issue, the headphones are way too heavy. After playing a couple of hours, it gives me a strong headache and a very sore head.

Keep up the good work Stefan Achatz, and thanks Roccat for the Linux love!

finally some humble $$ for open source! And this time Windows / mac users will be contributing also :D

This was long overdue, since a lot of open source helps indies to start out or is used in some form or another. but not much is contributed back...

Anyway if this bundle does well am sure they'll do it more frequently and maybe even for tools like Gimp, blender, inkscape, krita, etc.

I as well have only made it to the boss like 2 - 3 times. That being said, I've probably sunk at least 15 or so hours into this game.

Yep, I'm the same -- I had my fair share of fun with FTL, but found it getting a bit long in the tooth now. I'm looking forward to booting it back up with the extra content though.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but my FTL runs are way shorter than in Dungeons of Dredmor. Dredmor is a way deeper & richer game in nearly every way (classes, unlockables, descriptive text, puzzle variety, etc).

I would suggest that those who've the chance to do so might consider running through the game few times before playing the Advanced Edition. Some of the new changes have the potential to make it feel quite different.

Personally? I've had great fun with it, but have exhausted it's entertainment value and await new content with interest. :)

I do agree with you adobe is a good example of a company that gives 0 fucks and behave like shit, and it shows on theor products.

In true RPGs, where R stands for roleplay and it's not just a letter, the focus is on the story and not on combat, like action and hack n slash RPGs. You create a character with specific abilities and characteristics and with specific background. According to these abilities you interact with the NPCs and your companions and you make decisions that fit with the personality of your character. Different decisions have different results and most possibly different ends. Thus the good RPGs have great replay value because you can play them again and again by choosing different paths of the story. True RPGs, where you do not have just to click and kill, are Fallout for example, or Planescape Torment.

So I might actually be able to play the two copies of FTL I bought last year - I learned better than to jump into a Rougelike before all of the extra content was released after having to spend three months bashing through Dungeons of Dredmor again with all of the DLCs added. ;)

An FPS game is very much an RPG yes, you're playing the role of the shooter aren't you? RPG is an extremely broad term and people forget that.

This looks like it will help more developers bring native builds of their games, while still allowing them to use the development tools they are familiar with. I think this is fantastic, and if it provides a robust, familiar development environment, coupled with solid, performant, native builds, then it's definitely worth supporting.

If there are example projects, then someone could build a simple unit-test & benchmarking suite for platform comparison, especially 3D acceleration. That could also be used for community regression testing. I think that such a project might help dispell the sentiment that effort spent here is intended to build a glorified node-webkit, when that couldn't be farther from the truth.

Clicked all of your links and not one looked like the other. What is a true RPG anyway? A computer RPG? There are many different types of RPGs but that one seems to be one of if not the original definition of a RPG, as opposed to an action RPG, a strategy RPG, and so on.
