When people say stuff like "gaming is dead", usually referencing the crap quadruple A's, I point this out.
If even 1% of those games are "good enough", that is 190 good enough games. Even the most hardcore gamer isn't playing 190 games a year!
At 0.1%, you still have 19 good (and at this level probably 19 great) games.
Then consider how many classic/old games you missed. I suspect some 6-year-old that is starting to play games right now could reasonably never play anything made after 2025 and have a literal lifetime of amazing games to play.
If anything gaming is closer to saturated than dead.

Quoting: PyrateStatements like these are one of the reasons why we'll never get game as good as Deus Ex again.Ehh... come on now; you know that's a wild exaggeration. Big studios shy away from im-sims because they've never been profitable enough for them. Deus Ex itself could come out only at the absolute tail end of the crazy experimental phase of 90s gaming, under John Romero himself as publisher.

Quoting: phil995511I have much more confidence in Steam's funding model via Early Access !! And I find it hard to understand why the developers at KSA refuse to publish their game on Steam in early access...Probably because it's way too early to call it early access. I guess they're more at the tech demo stage at this point.

Customization galoreI tried COSMIC about a month or two ago and I was vastly underwhelmed by its customisation options. No clock format, no window decorations,... I know it's not KDE, but I want my clock to show the day of week (for example, Thursday), date in %F format (for example, 1970-01-01), and 24-hour clock without seconds (for example, 00:00).

Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (I find it too tiring to play with its incessant boss battles, so I stopped playing at the beginning of Chapter II), The Last of Us Part II Remastered, Red Dead Redemption 2 (that I liked very much !!).
ARC tempted me, but I didn't buy it because it doesn't offer PVE...

Seems in line with other Aspyr remasters like the Soul Reaver and Tomb Raider, that just have redesigned models and higher resolution textures. And as has already be told, you can change to the old one, so... Taking into account this is a remaster and not a remake, I don't see why the backlash.

KSP v1 was brilliant, I spent hours playing it.
KSA seems promising, but its funding model concerns me.
On their forum, they say they want to raise $30 million before creating a Linux version !!
This reminds me of Star Citizen and the $900 million that has been poured into this project. After almost 14 years of development and $900 million raised from donors, their game still hasn't been released in its final version. It is more than likely that this money was used to fund the well-being of the CEO of Cloud Imperium Games rather than the Star Citizen game itself. I would be curious to know how many dream homes and luxury cars he has purchased since 2012...
I have much more confidence in Steam's funding model via Early Access !! And I find it hard to understand why the developers at KSA refuse to publish their game on Steam in early access...

Tomb Raider - Legacy of Atlantis looks like a return to the good old LAU (Legend, Anniversary, Underworld) trilogy, which still are my favorite titles of the series.
I'm still to finish Diablo IV as it didn't click with me the way I hoped (and having to rebuy on Steam therefore waiting for a good deal) but having Mephisto mob influencers and streamers is delightful. Blizzard cinematics still rock.
And getting a new game from Frictional never hurts - Ontos looks really promising.

Statements like these are one of the reasons why we'll never get game as good as Deus Ex again.
This is positive news, you'll now get a better product due to the feedback.

Quoting: LinasThe style was fine. Also, you can just play the original, if you prefer that. Some people just need to complain about everything.Consumerism. The 'remaster' looks genuinely worse than the original game from the year 2000. Also it costs (more) money, of course people will be critical.

I had some time off a couple of weeks ago, and pulled the trigger on Avowed. Absolutely stunning game - like a cross between Skyrim's open world and interesting characters, and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic's visceral combat. The dodge, block, attack almost feels souls-like at times, and some of the fights are just absolutely immense. Incredibly fun game.
Otherwise, just Path of Exile 2 as usual, but the Abyssal League finished a few days ago, and the new Last Druid expansion launches tonight, with a new league kicking off. Can't wait. PoE2 is incredible, I love it.
