lodle writing on the Desura forum has asked for opinions and help in making the Desura client partially open sourced (I say partially as it will use some sort of dual licensing as they are a commercial company).
UPDATE - Now has a github for the code ready to be dropped. I suggest you read the wiki first.

I am not quite sure how they can get the dual-licensing working with the GPL. Might be best to use a license that does not have anti-linking protections in this case.
