To be honest, if a dev supports Steam in the Bundles, they should be required now to support Desura as well. The Bundles are billed as cross platform and are (via direct Bundle downloads) available, but the nice 'all-in-one' shop (Steam) is leaving Linux users out of the loop.
If Steam were to add Linux support as well, then I could see leaving it as a choice to developers to have them available via Steam or Desura or (insert future competition here) or direct download only.
At any rate, I bet that Desura will release a Mac port long before Steam ever thinks of releasing for Linux, so supporting Desura makes more sense in the long run.
Yes it is. They're on Steam why not Desura? Also, unlike Steam, Desura has a Linux client. So, If you're Mac or MS Windows, you can choose direct download, bit torrent, or a distribution client. Why should Linux have to go without that last choice?
The whole idea of the bundles are 'cross-platform'. If Steam supported Linux, there wouldn't be an issue.
Then why was it not irresponsible for them to demand games get ported to Mac and Linux in the past? Because to be a part of the Bundle, you have to fulfil certain guidelines. Desura keys were part of the value that the Bundles offered. So I still do not see the problem. If you want to be a part of the Bundle, you have to make yourself presentable first.
This is not true!
I am stil waiting on Aquaria, Hammerlight, Samorost 2, Cortex Command, Voxatron, Chocolate Castle, Jasper's Journeys, Zen Puzzle Garden for Mac OSX on Steam.
Yea!!!!
If you still didn't get the bundle, I bought one extra to gift. Let me know if you're interested. :)
