Serious Sam II is, or at least was, playable on Linux with a little work.

if you like adventures then The Journey Down is the real gem of this pack, I am enjoying it immensely

So I tried out the demo of Harvest, seems like it could be pretty cool, only did the tutorial level so far though.

We'll I just found tow bugs in The Journey and let the developers know about it and here is there response

"Hi Mark,
sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I was hoping to hear from our programmer that this was something we could solve, but he seems to prefer not picking at it at this stage. Hence, we'd rather give you a refund.
Did you get contact with the folks over at indie royale? Could they help you with a refund somehow?
Thank you, and sorry for the inconvenience.
-theo"

It seems that they do not care about fixing issues in there game and to just give me a refund. That really does suck because I really liked playing this game.

Just small stuff or something that stops you from playing the game?

The two bugs stop the game and you can not do anything but restart computer. It is when you look at the cash register and when you get the ceiling fan. I have tried this on two different computers and was able to get it to crash both times. Just frustrated that first the humble bundle games was not working right and not this bundle games don't work right. I even had issues getting Harvest to work right.

Okay, in general, anything that causes your system to hang is a driver bug. It should not matter what crazy things an application does, it shouldn't cause a hang. It can be worked around in the app of course, but it's usually better to focus on fixing the drivers.
Mark McKinnon Jul 6, 2012
Ok so not to be rude to you or anything but really. You have no idea what hard ware I have and this is the first game in along time that I have had a in game issue like this. With out the developers wanting to try to work it out they just gave up. I can not see it being a driver issue but with out them going over some stuff there is no way to find out. I understand that no game is perfect but holly HELL.
Look at Overgrowth that game has been in development for what almost 2 years. Hell look at any operating system it may come out with bugs but at least they are willing to work bugs out. Look at Harvest it was way to much of a pain in the but to get working. Look at Limbo on the humble bundle. That game has sound issues and there is TONS of people with the same issue for sound there. It's funny I know a lot about Linux (Ubuntu) and I tell you if I was a new user and had this much issues I would go back to windows. If you want new users to drop Windows for Linux then you have to make it as easy to do that. But we look at of its a driver issue not the programs fault. If that was the case then Windows would be the best OS out there. But nope they come out with TONS of patch's.
Hell look and Limbo they know there is a issue and will not fix it right either. But for them to get Humble Bundle money they quickly put a Linux version with a emulator on it. Sorry if you are not willing to put effort into a linux game (and there are companies that are putting effort into it) then don't put it out.

It really doesn't matter what hardware you have. Anything that locks up the machine is a driver (or less likely) hardware problem.
Mark McKinnon Jul 6, 2012
So what all software is perfect??? I really do not think so or again we would all be Windows users. Tell me then why would I have problems with The Journey Down (in game play) and not with any other games. Why would I have problem with Limbo (Sound issue) and many more people that they have to put a thread about this issue. How about Harvest when you have to download a bunch of stuff just to get it running. I have formatted my computer twice just to see if it was my computer and it still does it on all them games. Unless you are the developer of one of these games then please stop defending them. Again new users would just give up on Linux for games with these issues. If you were running these games on Windows you would not have this issue.

I have to agree with Mark. This is kind of disappointing from them.
Mark McKinnon Jul 6, 2012
Thank you at least someone agreeing with me. I am not trying to be a prick about this but come on. If you are just willing to through a game on Linux just to get your game into a bundle to make money (Limbo) and it not 100% work like it would for Windows. Then why are you bothering it really leaves a black eye. Also I just beat The Journey Down (again love the game) the last part of the game with the animation was skipping bad on my computer. Also it is funny when they say they will not do a patch for the game with there is either version 1.00 or 1.01 version you can download. So they have done some patching to the game. I am aware that I am complaining a lot but come on Linux users deserves games that work just like Windows users get.
