After many didn't believe Phoronix articles about Steam coming to Linux, it seems they were right all along despite Valve stating before it wasn't happening.
Recently he published an email from a reader of his about Steam coming to Linux, well I would also like to today show you something of a reply I received from the man himself....look closely at the picture below (click to enlarge). Ignore the fact that I was searching for gimp the image is not false (I am making a logo for a new project of mine—GOL Portal).

So folks, it's time to get excited, Steam should be out before the year is up but with Valve Time (Valve being notorious for being late at well...everything!) it may slip, let's hope not though. I was extremely surprised he emailed me back, he didn't the last 2 times I emailed him...either way good stuff is ahead.
So we are being finally taken seriously by one of the companies who can probably influence games for us the most. I will be having a celebratory drink tonight I think...
I can't help but feel something else though, a little sad maybe? Can Desura and Gameolith hold out against what is a massive behemoth is pc gaming? Desura has an important role to play with it's Alpha Funding program so let's not forget about that and the fact that Gameolith publishes native .debs and .rpms for easier installing and is Linux/Android only I still think they have a role to play.
What are your thoughts now? Do you still not believe it will arrive or like me finally do?
