Gabe Newell actually mentions on video about Linux in this very short clip. For those too lazy;
He mentions how he has been talking to partners about why they are supporting Linux.

I have to say I'm kinda surprised at how often I've had this discussion over the past couple of days. What we're talking about is the difference between "confirmation" and "supporting evidence".
Your email is succinct and is confirmation (though it's definitely not an "announcement" as many people have been saying). This video is ambiguous, but could be talking about the same thing, so it's evidence that supports the notion that Steam is coming for Linux.
Masquerading opinion as fact is what Larabel is most renown for. It's pretty uncool and potentially deceptive.
It's OK to believe. I believe too. This is about terminology. The word "confirmation" implies factual knowledge, not belief.
