So while I have had a bit of time this weekend I started work on a new website, while not directly Linux gaming related it is Linux related so I present to you a very rough website to look up I called Linux 4 Today.
http://www.linux4today.com
Since igoogle is being retired I personally needed a new homepage to keep myself up to date (I can never find a good RSS reader).
So the website is being built to help me and anyone else who uses it keep up with the Linux sphere.
Enjoy.
Also for GOL's future
In the distant future the website will get rid of the current portal/home page we have and use a script I am also working on I called GOL Portal (good name eh ;)).
You can see a very rough preview over here.
It will not be placed up this year as it will take me a while with family commitments, work and personal stuff to find time to finish all the features I want to be available.
Once finished it will be open source for anyone else to use as well. I am hoping to get it to hook into different forums as well :)
The main reason for that script is the current portal we use is hard to administer with no support from the author...it also helps us not be dependant on someone else and be locked down to their license.
If anyone has suggestions on what they would like to see on the new website fire away.
That's it for now happy gaming!

I say, that is a really rough preview indeed. :p
Some other ideas from the top of my head:
Some other ideas from the top of my head:
- more advanced way of managing articles with easier formatting tools;
- perhaps a temporary storage to auto-save in case of browser crashing;
- associating a thumbnail image with an article, displaying it next to the excerpt on the main page;
- easy and quick article browsing and search, perhaps a tagging system.

It has a category system so all articles will be in a category and you can view by category. I will add searching and searching by category for the articles that shouldn't be hard.
Auto save would be tricky as that would use some form of javascript which i'm no good with at all heh but with jquery it may be possible, saving articles as drafts would be easy to do though to publish later so that i can add from the get go.

The Linux4Today website has had a minor facelift, looks a lot nicer now.
