Yeah i like that feature also its great being able to turn down the sound via your laptops buttons rather than the games menu, much easier.

Quoting: "Cheeseness, post: 5489, member: 122"No love for Shatter? It's totally the best game in the bundle :D

matter of taste i guess.
most boring game in the bundle for me.
Rochard so far seems the best... and unity engine works fine

currently playing Borderlands 2 and tomorrow Torchlight 2 unlocking..damn too much games at the same time :)

My test list so far:

Rochard - runs super good. can alt+tab, switch workspaces in fullscreen mode, pressing esc key to bring up menu ugrabs mouse so i can use my second monitor etc. this is how all games should be.. Unity engine seems nice.
Shatter - works fine but just not my type of game.
SPAZ - installs fine. 2 Fps in the menus. havent even tryed to lag beyond menu with that framerate.
Dustforce - works fine without issues
Torchlight - haven't tryed the native version yet, completed the game via wine without issues and TL2 preload is also waiting for release date.
Vessel - waiting for packages.

Well, there is a patch available for SDL that allows audio control using multimedia keys or combination of Control-Alt-[QAZ]. Works for alsa only though as I avoid pulseaudio like the plague.

Rochard: mighty impressed with it, unity engine looks good :) soundtrack is brilliant
Shatter: have it on PS3, it plays better with controller then keyboard mouse, but good game
Torchlight: crash bug once in a while, maybe once an hour or so but only when entering a new level, so its playable as it saves a lot, good diablo clone !

not tried the others yet

@swanny, wonder how many avoid pulseaudio like the plague, I know I do, went out of the install list before I installed opensuse on this machine.

pulseaudio has been working for me for years...used to be pretty bad about 3 years ago but no problems lately.
love the ability to control the volume levels of each app separately

Yeah, PA has been fairly amazing for some time now, it works pretty much flawlessly for me (except for Skype...). I just hope that at some point I will be able to Alt+Tab my way out of games and easily change volume.
Hamish Sep 20, 2012
Yeah, the PA per app volume has been very useful for me when playing games.

no problems with skype either for me.
and alt+tab also mostly works...well some games not..then i use alt+ctrl+D or printscreen button to bring up screenshot dialog and then switch workspaces.
yeah...nasty ways tho...but most games alt+tab or alt+ctrl+ arrow keys(to switch workspaces) work fine

also..some games have ctrl+G to ungrab mouse..some games u can bring up the console to loose focus..etc

My patch also supports overriding Alt-Tab for minimising and maximising in SDL where unsupported by games. Though it'd be better if SDL didn't grab the keyboard when fullscreen - there is a patch somewhere to stop that though.

For me pulseaudio, at least on my desktop, is unnecessary as I've hardware mixing (and don't need independent volume controls). Pulseaudio patches welcome though.

I finished this last night, and was massively surprised at how good it is.Sure it has one or two rough edges, but the puzzles are well designed, the pacing is good, and presentation on the whole is engaging and compelling.

Interesting. I've only ever played Pong clones with a mouse. A game pad would seem to be less accurate/responsive. Is that compensated for, do you think?
