Interstellar Marines a sci-fi FPS focused on tactical co-op, role-playing and nonlinear gameplay that we introduced to you before as it's been accepted on Steams Greenlight in now on Kickstarter to get all the funds they want to finish it.
They want a total of $600,000 to finish it off and have already got nearly $40,000 I think this one considering how popular it was even before Steams Greenlight is a pretty safe bet.
On the page again confirms Linux support. Along with Linux support the game will be available on Steam + DRM Free option as well.
Thanks to Bestia for letting us know about it.

The Kickstarter says "Planned for Steam". Did they get accepted after all ? Cos I see no confirmation anywhere :/

This is interesting. At the point that Interstellar Marines was put on Greenlight, I'm pretty sure Valve were recommending that only titles that were nearly ready for publishing should be submitted (now there's a separate category for games earlier in their concept/development phases). $600,000 seems a little farther behind than I expected this game to be.
They were Greenlit in the last batch of titles. See here (it also shows up in the list of Greenlit titles on Greenlight...).

I recall they already raised $1.5 million dollars from the community several years ago. What happened to that money  Their video shows nothing of AAA FPS games and no new footage :/

No idea, ask them?

Here get some more of the current crowdfunding games with confirmed or possible Linux version.
Distance it's an arcade racer not the typical racing game (which is a genre of games that I don't like). This is a game made by the same people (atleast few of them) that created Nitronic Rush. They making the new version in Unity engine but unfortunately they aren't sure about Linux. Nobody on the team has expierience with it and they use the stable Unity not the Beta 4 and there is also Wwise. That's an audio middelware which supports pretty much everything besides Linux.
FORCED is a fast-paced cooperative arena combat game. Another game powered by Unity with developers commited to releasing Linux version.
StarForge is a game about gathering resources, building bases, crafting anything you want, and surviving on an alien planet. They plan to release StarForge for Windows and Mac (with possible Linux support after Unity 4 is released).

Found the answer: http://www.interstellarmarines.com/forum/threads/id/2567/
It's not subscription based, it means: you will get any re-release (console, other platform,..) for free.

but they are currently likely to hit it.
which is just as well, as the game looks very good.

Sorry for the thread necro, but last week Born Ready Games (creator of SSZ) got close enough to the stretch-goal to commit to a delayed release on Linux & Mac OS X! I was fairly certain this would happen (the campaign closed with $174.8K, plus $3K from PayPal), wth the PayPal left open for quite some time. I strongly suspected they'd easily reach the final $3K within a month or so.
Here's the update in which they commit to a DRM-free release on GOG, and also Linux
