With closed the Steam for Linux beta on the cusp of release, now seems like a good time to do a recap of the games that look like they will be making an appearance first.
As I'm sure most of our readers are aware, Marlamin.com maintains a Steam Content Description Record mirror which has a special page that displays items which have Linux included in their "validoslist" value. Currently there are 48 CDRs that meet this criterion, 40 of which are distinct games (there are some betas, DLC items, etc.), and two of which don't have descriptions:
In addition to these, we have the Steam Linux Beta subscription, which (as also confirmed by a post on Croteam's Facebook page) contains the following:
The official Steam for Linux community hub also now has a "Limited Beta" sub-forum (this has happened within the last 24 hours - previously there was a "beta user test" sub-forum which hung around for a day or two), which only people with beta access can post in. For anybody who would like to try to get beta access, but hasn't completed the Linux survey form provided by Valve, I'd suggest doing that now :)

QuoteYou will be getting an email indicating acceptance into the limited beta and instructions on getting started.
We are currently in the process of choosing the participants. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Quoting: "Hamish, post: 6090, member: 6"Well, we know for a fact he is prepping Postal 2 for RWS, but he did seem to be implying that he was working on several different titles, so here is hoping. :D
I think there's more than an implication of multiple titles here :D
QuoteNew games, old games, and tools to support them.
Edit: I managed to subscribe to the beta test sub-forum of the official Steam group before it was made invisible. There have been a couple of threads created (not that I can read them), so it looks like they're either giving things a quick test before throwing out beta access, or people have already started to receive invites.

What kind of threads? What are their titles?

Looking at http://marlamin.com/cdr/search.php?s=linux&searchby=all there are a few other things with Linux in them. Any idea what OB could be? Also, Nuclear Dawn?

Quoting: "Anon, post: 6101"What kind of threads? What are their titles?
One is titled "hello?", which has three or four comments in it, and one is titled "test", and appears to have one comment in it.

That search includes stuff that doesn't have Linux listed in the "validoslist" property, and seems to include a lot of dedicated servers (rather than clients). OB stands for Orange Box, and in this case refers to the Portal/TF2 era Source engine multiplayer components.
I purposefully combined/truncated multiple CDRs that referred to the same game from the list in the first post, so it might appear to be short if you've seen the full list ^_^
The Nuclear Dawn CDR you see listed on that page is related to the Nuclear Dawn dedicated server. I know that they are looking into Linux support, but I have no idea how far away that is (hopefully Liam will be able to scrounge up some details :D )
