Knytt Underground is a 2D platform game featuring a quirky story and a huge world to explore.
Mi Sprocket is a sprite who develops special powers as she embarks upon a quest to ring the six bells of fate; which if not rung every six hundred years will begin a chain reaction that will obliterate the world! There’s one small detail though; the odds are it’s just a superstitious nonsense and the world isn’t really ending...

The Linux version of the game is still in beta stage, but is hopefully working perfectly. By purchasing the game from Fastspring you get access to the full version Linux betas (and the 1.0 release when it's out). If you have purchased the game on Gamer's Gate and wish to have access to the Linux version, contact me. Please let us know how the Linux build works for you by posting here.
The game itself was built using Clickteam's MMF2 one of my all time favourite "game creator" tools (when I was originally a windows user in my early teens I actually made games using MMF1.5). The editor works flawlessly under Wine and the program has an open source multi-platform exporter tool that exports projects to Linux, Mac and Windows.

Didn't have any real problem getting it to work - the only one I ran into was, as often, having to rename the bundled openal to get sound working. Other than that, it runs beautifully, and the game itself is very laid-back and enjoyable.

openal was fine for me (openSUSE 12.1), but the supplied libpython2.7.so.1.0 and libvorbis.so.0 were linked against (and required) glibc-2.15. Renaming/removing and thus using the system libs worked without problems.
Indeed a very nice game, not really spectacular, but very enjoyable. I consider buying it.
And for those (like me) prefering saved data in the home directory and not in the game dir:
Edit Game.ini and set Portable Mode=0
