Just a reminder folks over a week ago Headclot posted about Torque3D needing funds to port to Linux well this is a reminder since it seems they have had a rather slow start.
They have currently raised just over $3,000 with a target to hit of $29,487 with 37 days left they still have ways to go and they need your help!

It sort of feels like this campaign is targeting the wrong audience. I shot them a few suggestions about how they might go about improving their campaign, but didn't hear anything back. it's a shame because the premise is great.

I am not exactly sure, why should we, gamers, support this?
OK, i understand that this will enable developers use Linux, POSSIBLY to create Linux game ports.(just cause i develop in Linux, doesn't mean my product will be used on Linux).
I get no game discounts or NOTHING. And I also risk my money.
In other words, I bet on a horse, and I don't even know what I will win, most likely I shall win another opportunity to bet on a horse. From gamer perspective it's a loose-loose situation.
BTW, I have typically paid several times more than average on Humble Bundle games(with one exception, but I was really broke that time, when I had to borrow money for food), I also supported a few Kick Starters. I don't want to be perceived as greedy man.

I must have missed the comment. Was it a private message on the IGG campaign? I'm definitely interested in talking to you about the campaign and any help that you can offer to us! I loved that your blog recognized porters for the Humble Bundle games.

I don't think you're greedy at all. I can understand where you're coming from since you are more interested in playing games than developing them. That makes perfect sense to me. We work with developers everyday so that is our target. And if we can expand the breadth of environments that developers can target (or work natively on), we're hoping to see a greater influx of games to the Linux platform! If you're interested in playing Linux games, I would recommend finding some favorites in the GarageGames and Unity communities and requesting ports to Linux. The ability to export to Linux is relatively new in Unity 4, but some developers have already jumped on-board. The development and QA process loop is long with Unity since it runs on Windows/Mac and you either have to load it up in a VM, another machine, or dual-boot to test on Linux. Which is one of the reasons that our campaign targets native development.
As a gamer, though, go out and petition for your favorite games to be on Linux.

Yeah, I sent it in a PM through IndieGoGo about three weeks ago. I've shot you a PM through the forums here. It'll be good to bounce some ideas around.
Thanks for the feedback - it's great to be able to lift the lid a little on some porters that many hadn't heard of before. It's easily been the most popular aspect of my most recent article :)
