Counter Strike 1.6 now also coming to Linux

By -
So Half-Life is now Beta and with it came a little suprise, Counter Strike 1.6 beta is there also!

To get the Linux version of CS1.6 you need to opt into the "SteamPipe beta". It's a bit rough at the moment you would need to launch it via a command similair to this:
QuoteOpen a terminal, and from ~/.steam/steam/SteamApps/common/Counter-Strike/ execute "LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. ./hl_linux -game cstrike"

Thanks to this users post on reddit for the instructions.

It's really great to se Valve making a push like this, hopefully once this and Half-Life are more polished they will move onto the source versions where the graphics are much improved. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.
