Galaxy Chomp is a roguelike-like space game currently in development for Windows and Linux (of course!) It is currently on Kickstarter here. It's site is located here.
The game features a randomly generated galaxy, permadeath, a tough difficulty curve, tons of randomized parts to equip on your ship, and plenty of resource management.

That is actually why I didn't have more gameplay stuff showing, I was afraid that seeing alpha quality work would turn too many people away. I have since been told by a number of people that I should forget that and show the game regardless of how rough it is. I am going to make an update with some gameplay footage and me answering some of the biggest questions I have gotten so far tonight. I'm also working on getting a prototype together that I will release on the Kickstarter for everyone to play around with.
Here are a few early screenshots.
It is really not much like FTL at all (sorry if that had you excited!) It is a space-based roguelike, but I think that is about where the similarities end. You control your ship directly, and one of the major gameplay mechanics is actually flying your ship well. There is no "game map" or whatever, you are just flying your ship in the game world directly, with no borders or boundaries or set paths.
