  • Improved auto-save behaviour

  • Higher res font
  • Much faster 3D scenes
  • Can now control mini games with mouse only
  • Screensaver will no longer activate when the game is running on Linux

I have yet to do a proper play through of this one, looks like it could be pretty fun though, especially great now it's open source!

Can't seem to find the 2.0 release on the Monster 2 site?

They aren't on the main Monster RPG site yet, until I finish the final releases for other platforms. For now you can get them from: http://trent.gamblin.ca/tmp/2.0-final/. Cheers.

To those not having played/finished it yet: it IS a pretty nifty game, if a bit lacking in the... literary department.
Some parts are outright infuriating though - not gonna spoil it but you'll probably find out soon enough if you give it a go. If you find yourself stuck, there's a walkthrough on the Nooskewl website that can save your sanity.

PS: Also, ITS, not IT'S. And "open source source". ;)

A Good Rule of Thumb:
If you can replace it with his or her, there's no apostrophe.
or if you can replace It's with it has or it is then the apostrophe is used.

So it would be "it's" since i cannot replace with his or her so...i was right?
Rustybolts Mar 29, 2013
you were indeed

Wow, I'm not often right on spelling! :D

Nope, you weren't and aren't...
the now open source RPG game reminiscent of early Final Fantasy games has just hit it's 2.0 release!
-> the RPG game has hit it's 2.0 release!
-> the girl has just hit her boyfriend
-> "his/her for it"
-> "its 2.0 release".

:D

Aaaah, look:
"I, the open source game, have hit MY 2.0 release" -> ITS
"I, the open source game, have hit I'M 2.0 release" "I, the open source game, have hit I HAVE 2.0 release" -> IT'S

Which one ? :)

Err no, the apostrophe in the case of "it's" indicates a contraction of "it is", whilst "its" denotes ownership (which is where Rusty's his/hers thing comes from).

The rule of thumb that I use is that physically missing letters take precedence over ownership ^_^

Ahh never even seen his first sentence
Final Fantasy games has just hit it's 2.0 release!
was only looking at the final

It's a shame to pull someones article to bits, over something so trivial though.
Hyeron Mar 30, 2013
Ah, that explains it.
Well it is and isn't a shame. It helps GOL put better articles on the front page, for one.
Plus it's not like there's any critique about Liam's or your sense of aesthetics when it comes to literacy or the relevance of any article (as opposed to some people on Reddit) :)

But yeah, a more discrete, "official" way to file such things could be pretty cool. Definitely. :)
Liam Dawe Mar 30, 2013
There is a PM system for exactly that.
Hyeron Mar 30, 2013
Never considered PERSONAL messages to be an "error reporting" system (quite a few websites I check regularly have one of those), but if that solution suits you, prepare to be spammed. ;)
Liam Dawe Mar 30, 2013
Honestly i much prefer if people do wish to correct such minor things to do so via PM.

I always appreciate the help but prefer such things outside of comments on the article directly.
