So 1.69% when we compare it to last months figures at 2.02%, it's a little disappointing but I'm sure we will rise back up by the end of the year when we see some of the bigger titles hitting, DOTA2 for example being the most popular game on Steam isn't even on Linux yet.
Update: Ignore the below, it seems the up/down % is this month vs January.
Personally I think the survey itself needs to be a bit better explained by Valve on how they do it, look at these stats for example:
This Month: Linux Mint 14 Nadia 64 bit 0.13% +0.13%
Last Month: Linux Mint 14 Nadia 64 bit 0.17% +0.17%
How can this month be lower yet be +0.13%, the survey this month just isn't right or last month wasn't right or both.

on the other hand..... steam came out, everyone was wheeeee !!! and installed it, next thing....... ummm okay some old titles but nothing really new, so it probably is lack of interest. Would be intresting to see if it spikes when a humble bundle with steam keys comes out :)

Well to be quite frank, I haven't opened it in a while because there isn't much of anything there. I mean, there is only so many times I can play a Pixel game or a Puzzle game. I know Valve are adding it's games but I've played those to death already years ago. Same with the Humble Bundle, it's almost always Puzzle games and Pixel art, eventually you get tired of that.
We just need some AAA titles. Another thing, people have moved from 12.04.1 to the updated 12.04.2 seems they are counting that as a loss, amongst other anomalies.

The solution to these figures are that both February and March are compared to January.
Linux Mint 14 Nadia 64 bit wasn't shown in January so it is up +0.13% in February compared to January and up +0.17% in March also compared to January. Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit was at 0.43% in January, so it is up +0.28% to 0.71% in February compared to January and up +0.04% to 0.47% in March compared to January.
No idea why they would want to do it this way though...

I agree I've no idea why they would do it this way, very odd.
I just wish they told us how many people these statistics where taken from.

its compared to the january because initially february statistics did not include other distros (just ubuntu)

I wonder do these stats take in account of running Steam on Wine?
I still do as a bunch of my fave golden oldies are a pig to get working on Windows 7, but work much better with Wine (e.g. Dungeon Siege 1&2)
