Gnomoria a sandbox village management game that popped up on Steam's Early Access may be getting a Linux version.

I had an email chat with the developer Robert of Robotronic Games who had this to say:

QuoteHey Liam,

It's something that I'd like to work on soon but don't have any expected release just yet.  I've seen some people talk on the forums about getting it to work on OSX under Wine.  I'm not sure if that would directly translate to working on Linux or not.  Seems like a possible temporary solution until an official release.

Thanks,
Robert

Certainly sounds promising!

It looks rather a lot like Towns (which is on Steam and Desura) but with more improved graphics. Great to see more sims like this coming out and if this one does hit Linux as the author suggests then it's Win-Win.

Oh goodness, I hope Devs aren't falling into the whole "Just use Wine" mind-set again. Steam was suppose to change all this, sometimes I wish Wine didn't exist.

I do however, love a good sandbox game. Incidentally, I was just about to buy Towns while it's still on sale, I hope it's as fun as it looks. =)

I think thats a bit overboard this dev said it himself he wants to do it so its certainly not a "just use wine" it's more of a "it's their until it's ready" sort of thing.

Looks good, price is a lot more reasonable than Towns and the UI and Graphics are far superior. :)

From the looks of it, I can't say that Gnomoria's graphics is superior to Towns.
maybe the engine is (with the zoom capability) and the UI, but I like Towns game graphics - much more.
But I suppose that I'll buy Gnomoria sooner or later...
