It is official now: Grimlands the mix of Shooter and MMORPG with an open, post-apocalyptic world will also be available for Linux and Mac OS X!

After receiving so many questions and encouragement about bringing Grimlands to Linux and Mac OS X, we finally caved in. We are going to port Grimlands to both platforms!

It is something we have been planning for a long time, even started prototyping a few things here and there, but haven't fully committed to it before. Now we made the decision to launch Grimlands not only for Windows XP/Vista/7/8, but also Mac OS X and Linux. No matter which operating system you are using, everyone will be able to play on the same servers together.

I looked at their page, and the game looks gorgeous and solves all the problems of traditional MMOs, so I pledged $25.  Can't wait to play!

I also started a thread about it on the Steam Linux forums.

Well i hope that it's like the devs for Interstellar Marines. They didn't make their goal, but they are still developing it. It's going much slower, but it's getting there. I hope this company keeps on pushing it through. Looks like they have alot done so far. Would be a shame to just throw it away. Im sure they could still except paypal donations on their webpage and such that would keep them afloat. Im sure things in the long run will work out. I know there are other games much like this "Fallen Earth", but these dev's seem to be offering more with their Linux support. So all we can do is hope.

The Kickstarter was canceled two days ago. But the reason for the cancelation is good news: apparently the game has attracted the interest of several investors who'll pay for the development.
