Egosoft is a Linux friendly German developer that in 2012 decided to move in-house the development of Linux ports of their games instead of outsourcing to LGP.

X3: Terran Conflict was released in 2008 and was followed in 2011 by X3: Albion Prelude that is supposed to be ported too. While we wait for more ports of their games you can finally find X3: Terran Conflict on Steam with a familiar penguin among the supported platforms!

Was probably in beta because it wasn't listed among the Linux games, now it is official :)

Terran Conflict has only be around for a few days -- Reunion (which is the "base" X3 game) has been on Steam for Linux for some time now.

Interesting message of the developers from their forum:

[...] After our own port of X3:Reunion to Linux is now in Beta for a few months, starting today everybody who owns the game on Steam, can now help test X3:Terran Conflict on Linux. Please spread the news.

Before I get complaints about not speaking about X Rebirth again: Yes we are working hard on finishing X Rebirth (now for 6 years in development). We just released a couple of "Making of" videos on our youtube channel, and the people working on the new X3 updates are a separate team. So do not worry, X Rebirth is progressing full "steam" ahead, we are just giving you some nice things to do in the meantime

Coming up next "X3 Albion Prelude" 3.0 with lots of cool new content. Stay tuned. [...]

Hmm, I can't see X3: Reunion amongst Linux games...

Does anyone know their plans for the owners of X games released by LGP?

It's in BETA, you have to own the game already to get access (it's not listed on the Store as Linux compatible yet).

Just to confirm -- I'm looking at it in my games list right now ;)

I wonder if/when the games will go from beta to release?
