Egosoft is a Linux friendly German developer that in 2012 decided to move in-house the development of Linux ports of their games instead of outsourcing to LGP.
X3: Terran Conflict was released in 2008 and was followed in 2011 by X3: Albion Prelude that is supposed to be ported too. While we wait for more ports of their games you can finally find X3: Terran Conflict on Steam with a familiar penguin among the supported platforms!

It's in BETA, you have to own the game already to get access (it's not listed on the Store as Linux compatible yet).
Just to confirm -- I'm looking at it in my games list right now ;)
