Hotline Miami a game we have said is coming to Linux now has! Hotline Miami is a high-octane action game overflowing with raw brutality, hard-boiled gunplay and skull crushing close combat.
Speaking on their Steam Page they have announced a new Beta Update which gives a Linux version!
Just note I have personally been a tester and you may get a black screen until you resize the window (it's a known bug for a few versions now). So be patient on that one they seem to be having a little trouble fixing it.

QuoteThere is a beta for an update available now - simply right-click the game title, select Properties, and then go to the Betas tab to opt-in. Working on things like compatibility issues, windowed mode, leaderboards, etc. There will still be performance issues but if you encounter a major bug please post below!
Also, if you are a Linux user and own the game you can opt-in via the Linux Steam client as well.
Appreciate the support and thanks again for playing Hotline Miami!

The thing is, I opt in by going to ALL GAMES in my Steam library and opt in the Beta Branch, but it doesn't appear in my linux games and I can't install it. Do you know what I might be doing wrong?

Great news, indeed.
I hope I'll be able to continue from the existing save games (Windows).
It's annoying if you have to start from scratch.
Unfortunately, my experience - so far - is that all games required me
to start all over again, when a Steam Linux version appears.
That's not what I expected from the Steam Cloud option. :/

I cant install it either
I opt-in successfully on beta branch, but it says its not available on my current platform

Yep, not installable on Steam here either. Opt-in to beta seems okay, but there's no "install" button and if I right click on the title and choose "install game" from there, I get an error that it's not available for the platform.

I'm guessing that there will be a humble bundle tonight

They have stated to use the password "hlm" now so try that for the Linux beta :)

The password doesn't work, but the BETA drop down has also been removed and the game appears on my list of installable Linux games. However, the actual files appear to be missing (no disk usage value).
Still, progress... 8-)

Yep - now appears, no password prompt, but when you hit "Play" it says "missing executable". Strangely, some debian folks on the Steam mailing list claim it's working fine, so perhaps a package just needs to replicate through Valve's CDN worldwide.

Ah - update. You have to opt-out of the beta, then type-in 'HLM' to the code, which re-introduces the "private beta" branch. Opt-back in and you're good. 180Mb download, then play.
