Considering they state "Maintain Linux support for CryENGINE" that does suggest that there is already at least a basic port of their 3D engine.

All around great news, it means another major game engine shall hopefully be fully supported under Linux, who knows maybe we will get Crysis ;) Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

According to Phoronix, there was already a Linux port of the engine running internally at Crytek one year ago. If it's true, while it would probably need some work and polishing, it also means that the biggest part of the work is done and could be usable quite quickly.

We probably have Valve to thank for it, I'm guessing they've triggered many things by bringing steam to Linux and announcing Linux console. Now go buy, Portal, Half Life and Dota to say thanks!
