Our latest competition is a bit different, you need to have a copy of Minecraft and be whitelisted on our server, to get whitelisted please post your Minecraft username in this forum topic.

When will it run?
The competition will run from the 2nd of July to the 18th of July.

How to play?
To win you need to have the best looking build (it can be anything, your imagination is the limit!), you need to have sent us screenshot of your finished build by 8PM GMT on the 18th of July. All builds made in survival with no handouts from us!

Please put your shots in the forum topic we have for our Minecraft server.

It is advisable to build a little bit away from everyone else to give them space.

Who decides who wins?
We will be on IRC on the freenode server channel #gamingonlinux to decide the winner together from the screenshots posted in the forum! If you don't have an IRC client you can join us in the browser, just go to the community tab on our navbar and click IRC!

Prizes?!
  • A giftable copy of Humble Indie Bundle 6!! Prize donated by PlayX from GTuxTV
  • An Interstellar Marines Steam key from Sobkas (game will be heading to Linux, first on their roadmap)

I want in on this competition. Can it be an existing project or a new one?
Liam Dawe Jul 4, 2013
New project, no existing stuff of course to allow for new joiners to get in on it. Close date extended, the only rule is don't cheat which should go without saying.

Hahaha, in the same boat. I'd have liked to join this. Hope there's more in the future at a time when I am able to join :)
Will we get to see the screenshots on GOL?

EDIT: Didn't see that it's 18th of July. The dates are conflicting? Under how to play it says 7th of July, or am I not understanding correctly?

Competition is now over, all entries here please: http://www.gamingonlinux.com/forum/topic/360?page=1#post1

We moved the dates sorry, we will do another soon with a better length of time from starting. Once everyone has posted their creation we can find a winner!
