Wasteland 2 that high profile Kickstarted RPG game that helped bring Unity3D over to Linux has been delayed! This news comes in from their latest Kickstarter update.

The good news first though, this is one game that we shouldn't see stumbling over themselves to find more money.

QuoteI can happily announce that we remain well financed for development, thus allowing us to ship a product without compromise. This is primarily due to our disciplined spending, project planning and the benefit of our back catalog sales to cover any extra product features and content we loved.

Instead of the release happening in October this is when they will start the Beta for the game, based on their testing they will then set a new release date.

QuoteOnce the beta testing begins in October and once we have enough feedback from testing, we can evaluate where we’re at and set a new release date.

Wasteland 2 shouldn't disappoint if this latest update is anything to go by, especially when they say things like:

QuoteI’m quite pleased with Wasteland 2 from both a graphical and creative aspect; the scope of the game will be quite a surprise for people.

Can't wait to see just how big and impressive the game world is.

I am glad they are keeping up with the communication on it, they also recently showed off a new screenshot, looking awesome:

Certainly does look impressive, the interface doesn't look too cluttered either which is great.

Anyone else seriously looking forward to this? Once it hits Linux I will buy it for sure.

I missed the kickstarter, but I ended up pre-ordering via their website a while ago.

Really looking forward to it :)

I missed the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter too.
It is one of the reward of the Torment Kickstarter for me, though, into which I blew more money than I actually had (me on my shoestring budget); but I just loved PS:T to death. At first, I wasn't that interested about Wasteland 2, but the more I hear/see/read, the more I'm actually getting psyched about that game. :)

I have lost many hours of sleep on the original Wasteland.  I ordered from the kickstarter and can not wait for the release.  The best part is,  I get it on Linux.

Wait, Torment Kickstarter? There's a Torment Kickstarter? That's like my favorite game of all time...
But yes, I'm totally looking forward to this game! It looks fantastic!

Yes, there was a Kickstarter for a new Torment game (not in the Planescape setting, though, but using Monte Cook's new Numenera system): http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/torment-tides-of-numenera

The PayPal store is still open, I think: https://torment.inxile-entertainment.com/store
