There are so many versions of this game, i remember playing the version on eiter atari st or was it 286pc back then, if its that version then they can keep it, nothing more then a set of quick time events

Considering the age of the game, this gives me hope that Heroes of Might and Magic 3 will make it to Linux in all its glory as well. I would love for Heroes of Might and Magic 2 to come along as well. On that note, why not bring all of Heroes of Might and Magic to Linux? I would be blessed!

@FutureSuture: You are aware of the already existing Linux version of Heroes of Might and Magic 3 by Lokigames, aren't you?
Then there is also the VCMI project doing a open source reimplementation of the HOMM3 game engine, and the Free Heroes 2 Project for Heroes of Might and Magic 2 (though I haven't tried any of those two yet, so I don't know how well they work...).

Yes, good old Loki version of Heroes III which I played on my PPC iBook!
It was much nicer than fighting with wine to get Heroes V to play at all, with plenty of funky graphics artifacts :(

With a Linux client, this game would be a prime candidate for a Humble Bundle With Android title, I would think.

I was one of the guys voting for a Linux port, but it´s been a while since the last response from the devs and there are more than 50 persons wanting the gaming already, I am keepingmy hope, the game code is not complicated, since it´s a series of quick time events and videos, so a port for Linux would be very easy.

Thing is, if DL gets ported, there is a good chance of more Laserdisk games being released in the future. They own the rights to over 30 IIRC, just imagine them being released one by one for Linux.
