Well folks the Metro: Last Light version is happening as we all know, no idea yet of when, but if you are keeping track of things as we are you will know they are continuing their private Linux builds.
I decided to keep track of it for you in a full post as I keep getting asked about it, so here is all the info.
They responded to my emails about it, confirming it is happening and they also replied to my Steam post on their public forum, see our previous article "Metro: Last Light Looks Like It May Be Heading To Linux UPDATED"
Since the initial entry around 10 days ago into Steams database to show that it was coming to Linux the developers have done 11 revisions to the currently private Linux branch. So this shows they are continuing to work on it and polish it up for a release, hopefully they will run some sort of beta test to ensure it's of decent quality before a full release.
There is no ETA yet as to when the game itself will be released and only the developers/publishers will know. They haven't given any indication as to when, it's worth noting they have had a Mac beta for a while in private as well which hasn't been released yet, so it's probably a few months away yet folks.
So hopefully this will stop the barrage of "what's the latest on Metro LL on Linux" tweets, emails, etc. I don't mind of course, but rather than reply to every single one of you with the same thing, you can enjoy this public post.
Lastly: Please don't buy a copy until the Linux version is actually out, sadly it seems some developers have been using the promise of a Linux version to get more interest and then delay after delay nothing comes out of it. Be smart with your wallets.

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Quoting: scaineQuoting: Quote from DaifukuI wish they ported 2033. I got it in the last steam sale. Now I am not dual booter anymore xD,
As I said before, it's an instant sale for me, the moment it becomes available on Steam for linux.
I'd buy Metro: Last Light for the full price in case they also port 2033.
Otherwise waiting until it is on sale.

Too bad they had their pre-order thing going on earlier - which, I know I shouldn't have supported anyway, but it had a comic and I love the book - otherwise I would have bought it the day it came for Linux.
Now I just hope they are clever about this and count sales from downloads per platform.
