The Beta for Wargame: Airland Battle is now out for Linux if you purchase it now, the official Linux release is slated for the 30th of August.

Yay, I've played this under Windows for a while since it was in Beta. The original WG:EE ran great under Linux so I hope AB does too.
I'd rate gameplay a 7/10: It can be really fun at times but the user interface is poorly done and often gets into the way, distracting from gameplay quite a bit. It can also be extremely frustrating in multiplayer when you repeatedly end up with not so good players against good players. It is also not possible to see what units sets ("decks") your multiplayer teammates or enemies are bringing into battle, thus you sometimes end up with severe weaknesses and an oversupply of useless units for the battle you're in. This means you'll have to sit through 20-40 minutes of being slaughtered by your enemy or you abandon the game and make life for your remaining team even harder.
Conclusion: Only for hard-core strategy buffs who can sit out stretches frustrating gameplay from time to time in what is otherwise a good game.

I just installed the Linux version of WG:AB today and gave it a quick run.
Besides a few small graphics glitches, the main difference to the Windows version is that performance is significantly worse under Linux at this point. I have practically all settings on their highest under Windows and the framerate is still good (would guess 25fps and more) whereas under Linux, if I run everything at medium settings, I get about 5-10fps maximum. It is however hard to say for me how much of this is to blame on the game versus the binary ATI Linux driver running on my system.
Hopefully this will get better over time through updates on both sides.

I can't compare to Windows version but this thing runs great even on open radeon drivers (r600, mesa 9.2, kernel 3.10.5). Though I have it set on medium settings IIRC (autodetected, I just briefly looked at them, no experimenting so far).
