Amnesia A Machine For Pigs GOL Teaser

By -
I managed to get myself a nice early access pass to the new Amnesia game and have been allowed to video it for you, thanks to Simple Screen Recorder I have a setup that now works (I need a better CPU though)!

Warning: Do not view it if you don't want the first few minutes spoilt, but it's not very long so it shouldn't spoil much.

Just a gameplay video, no commentary to not ruin the atmosphere.

It already freaks me out, being a father myself this hits all the right notes to shit me up properly.

I confess I don´t want to loose the first impression playing the game but I´ll try to hold myself until I can and not watch the video... I finished the three Penumbra games and the first Amnesia, which is one of the best, if not the best, terror games ever in my opinion, this second game is already in my list since I read it was being developed!

Yep. Not watching!

Why the need for a new CPU? Since they are using the same engine, can the hardware specifications really have changed that much?

I think he just means his PC is old/ getting old. lol

Recording does take a performance hit.

Was meant for recording not for Amnesia. Recording makes my CPU crap out a little, AMD's APU's aren't known for their CPU power :(, going to go for an 8-core AMD next shouldn't have an issue there!

You should do an unboxing and a video of it running your Linux OS, if you get that CPU!
I'm a sucker for hardware videos :)

Indeed, that does make more sense, especially if you are using an APU.

Yeah the A10 5800K, sadly I wasn't expecting myself to be doing videos but it's quite fun so If I want to do more I need the cores!

The speed of your Ram actually has a good impact on APU performance. I don't know which would be cheaper in your case, or if the extra RAM would help with the recording drain.

Argh! Why do I buy/play these games?? I played the first two hours last night and nearly cried like a baby on three separate occasions. There's quite a few cheap scares in this one, and it's a little less psychological (so far), but the "searching for your two boys" plotline is a nightmare... as a father of two young boys myself. It's like Heavy Rain all over again.

Got a fair bit of tearing on my ninja-PC as well, which is disappointing. But very pretty overall.

I think it's easier to play with the volume waaaay down, so I'll give it another go tonight. Wish me luck.
