Attack Of The Gelatinous Blob Adds Linux Support

By Brent Owens -

Linux fans have demanded it, so indie studio Paper Machete Games has brought their mad science themed real time strategy game to the Linux platform. Complementing the Windows demo, the Linux demo offers a chance for a wider range of gamers to try their hand at playing a mad scientist and to support an excellent Kickstarter campaign.

The demo gives the player the ability to inflict gooey destruction on unsuspecting civilians with their horde of raging blobs. The blobs consume everything in the area, changing their abilities based on what they eat as they slither towards victory. All while the human race mounts a brave, if futile, attempt at stopping the hideous onslaught.

More information can be found on http://attackofthegelatinousblob.com/ including the trailer and link to the Kickstarter campaign.

that looks actually quiet fun, playing the blob but sadly getting a RuntimeException: Unable to find fullscreen display mode matching settings

And I hope all those fans actually follow through with their purchase. There is nothing worse than demanding support without intentions of purchase.

I will be uploading a fix for the RuntimeException today Bumadar. I will let you know here and then you will just have to launch the game again and it will automatically grab the update.

I look forward to having a free moment to run the demo. This looks like an interesting strategy game.

Alright, I put up a new version. It will auto-detect your supported screen resolutions and refresh rate and apply one that fits. Hopefully this solves the issue you had @Bumadar

It did not after an update, so deleted all and re-downloaded and that solved that error.

now after the cut-scene:

Uncaught exception thrown in Thread[LWJGL Rendere Thread5,main]
RendereException: compile error in:shaderSource[name=Shaders/LightningAdv.frag, defines, type=Fragment, language=GLSL110] : error:0(469) : errir C7011: implicit cast from "int" to "float".

sorry :)
