Thankfully we have learnt that Baldur's Gate:Enhanced Edition is still going to happen for Linux, but sadly they still don't have a timeline for it. It's good to see they aren't silent on it, maybe one day it will actually come out.

@theguiltmachine BG:EE for Linux is still in the works. We don't have a ship timeline yet, but it is still in the plan.

I have been waiting for this and Shadow Run. Why do the things I really want always seem to get delayed.

Didn't know about this - very hyped. I loved the BG series and it's been so long since I played a really good RPG and I love the D&D back end. Speaking of which, is this still based on 2nd Edition? Or have they updated it - I think Neverwinter used 3rd Edition and didn't NW2 use 4th? I'm not sure, but I liked the 3rd ruleset - it was much simpler to understand.

The last time they spoke of it they said it would be sold separately.

NWN2 was way before D&D 4.
NWN uses D&D 3.0, with some 3.5 changes pulled in. NWN2 is D&D 3.5.

On-topic:
From what I read, BGEE is pretty buggy. Even has some bugs that have long been fixed in the original, because it's based on an earlier than the latest patch.
And wasn't there also some kerfuffle with Atari pulling the license (and therefore no BG2EE)? Has that been resolved?

Personally, I recently replayed the original, with bg2tutu in Wine. Don't feel like replaying it again this soon, I think.

This is great, I was starting to get worried!

Last time I heard about it, they had problems with the rightholders of the game or the AD&D licence (not sure which) and they couldn't event release a patch for the Windows version that would fix a lot of problems players reported to them.
If this is not sorted yet, don't expect the Linux version anytime soon but it would not be the developers fault...

I love rpgs... especially D&D rpgs! I can't wait to see this release come to Linux. :)
