Cactus IDE For Haxe Game Development

By -
Open source cross platform IDE for the Haxe programming language supporting Windows/Linux/Mac.

Cactus IDE - On indiegogo is a new IDE for working with the Haxe scripting language which is cross platform supporting all major operating systems, the developer is seeking only $1,500 to polish it up, the IDE itself is using Java so it will of course support Linux.

Why
Haxe lacks really good cross platform IDE, the best thing Haxe developers can get -  is to get FlashDevelop. It's good IDE, but it's Windows only and Haxe language support there is still not as good as Flash.

I want to make fast, lightweight Haxe IDE which combines best features from different IDEs, like FlashDevelop and NetBeans

Seems pretty straightforward to me, looks like it could be a good one too for any Haxe developers to look into and support.

Giving a minimum of $10 gets your name in the About screen forever in the application itself, how nice.

Open Source
Yes! It will be licensed under MIT terms to give developers as much freedom as possible. RSyntaxTextArea component, which I am using, licensed under terms of modified BSD license. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

The much tools supporting Linux, the better!

disagree.
Uber fragmentation is bad.
It's better have 100 devs working one one project, than 1000 on 1000 projects.

The main problem with this project is, who is going to maintain it? I doubt the Haxe community will, because it's written in Java and not in Haxe.

It should be possible to write Swing GUIs with Haxe using the Java target.

Offer a SublimeText plugin instead and I'd be interested; I really don't need a new IDE for just one language.
