In my case it doesn't start properly "for ages".
I see the window where you can set the resolution but starting the actual game does not work.
First it complained about a missing library:
/home/entropy/Steam/linux32/libsteam.so
with error:
/home/entropy/Steam/linux32/libsteam.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
After manually creating a symlink to
/home/entropy/Steam/ubuntu12_32/libsteam.so
Now it doesn't complain about the lib anymore but doesn't start either.
And I don't see any error/warning that might hint what could be wrong.
Anyone else having this problem?

I do participate in the beta, yes.
And it worked fine at the beginning.

WTF? Hotline Miami has been ported to Linux alone time ago. I have it in my Humble Bundle account. I guess Humble Bundle must have done the porting for them.
